'Duality Cupcake ("Why")' - radio edit

Written for Masters of Song Fu #6 Rd. 3 when it was over at Ken Plume's Quick Stop Entertainment. This was the edit I gave out to podcasts and a few internet radio. It's virtually identical to all the other ones except for a bit of fluff here and there.

about

A video I made with lots of cryptic easter eggs that mean very little now:
www.youtube.com/watch?v=6mb5G4MzO5Y&feature=channel_video_title
(It's the first kind of cut up-paste-vignette sort of video I did like this)

I THINK that the only requirement was that it be about a recipe ... and I was choosing ridiculous titles for songs back then because I was “extra” before they called people that!

Also, A BIT OF TRIVIA!!
hardly anyone from the contest-worlds knows this, but this has a follow-up song to it I submitted at Nur Ein for the title 'Blame it On Ginger.' (Title not by me so not due to Extra-ness) But both songs are autobiographical (since that was the challenge for 'Blame it On Ginger'--which coincidentally was also about a recipe I found and then used as a metaphor). And both songs are adjacent to one another in my life narrative.

I did not explain this at the time.

lyrics

My week has not been fine
There's no rules for how to write my life
Stick to facts go back to practice
still all this distraction

lies in wait to glaze me make me crazy
although no mistakes are made
so who's to say?

It's morning…
It's nighttime
a cup of do-or-die
a flask of hello-goodbye
a tablespoon of
why shouldn't I??

As for him and I
-we're fine
and I think we might be tied up tight enough
… to get by

But who's complaining
what's underneath my frosting's
not really what's advertised …

well why .. shouldn't I
add the spice
a cup of do or die
dash of hello goodbye
well why not why, why shouldn't I?

Why, shouldn't I
add some spice
a cup of
do or die
just tell me
why write a recipe
to make something from this thing

Why shouldn't I?
Mixed up like marmalade inside
And I try to hide myself in plain sight …
it's sticky in my mind
complications clinging singing circles and I close my eyes
And it stays ... my duality
